Have you ever clicked on an email link on a webpage (e.g. "Contact Parents") and your computer tried to launch the Mail app instead of just opening a new email composition in GMail?
This is usually a configuration issue within Google Chrome. Here are the steps to resolve it:
- On the tab in which you read your emails (https://mail.google.com), look for a double-diamond in the address bar that allows you to select that email handler to be mail.google.com.
- If the menu is there, select "Allow". If it is not there, then you've already taken that step.
- Check the Chrome Settings to see if mail.google.com is the default email handler by opening a new tab and going to the following URL: chrome://settings/handlers
mail.google.com should be listed as the Default
